Welcome to The Barlborough Resource Centre Website.

The Resource Centre is the Old School House set in the grounds of Barlborough Primary School.
It stood empty for several years before in January 2000 a group of residents representing the local business,community groups,School Governors and Parish Councillors came together and formed a Trust, after much hard work, funding was awarded and the Centre was renovated into the Adult/Family Leaning Centre that it is today.
Barlborough Resource Centre is a registered Charity- Charity Number 1090889 and was officially opened in January 2003 with The Rt. Hon Margaret Becket M.P and Dennis Skinner M.P in attendance.

Offering a wide range of Courses for all ages and interests. The building has also been carefully planned to provide the best possible access for people with disabilities including a stairlift to the upper floor & specialized computing aids.A wheelchair is also available for disabled students to use.
The Resource Centre has two meeting rooms which seat 8-12 people. They are available to hire for personal, community and business use. We also provide an internet drop in service.

Our Computer Suite has 12 computers, Colour Printer, over head projector with screen and Photocopy facilities.

MEETING ROOMS / CLASS ROOMS AVAILABLE TO HIRE

Our meeting Rooms / Class Rooms hold between 10 - 12 people,  both with internet connection points, over head projector and screen.

THE ATKIN ROOM - INFORMAL MEETING ROOM AVAILABLE TO HIRE

 

The Atkin room was named after the last headmaster that lived in the school house, Funding was gained from the Primary Care Trust to refubish the room. It was opened on 7th March 2009 by Mr Keith Atkin, son of the late headmaster Rex Atkin (photograph - Rex Atkin).

With a relaxed friendly atmosphere this is an ideal room for informal meetings,group sessions, mediation, self help groups, quidance and advice. Internet access is also available.

It is available to hire

Business Rate - £10.00 per hr

Community Rate - £8.00 per hour
